claude 888c1c6768 the query source that claimed a turn is readable on /chat (V-539)
V-539 said SearXNG claims every world question, including invented terms,
so Kiwix is never reached. Measured today against the configured instance:
seven of eight invented Russian questions now return zero results, and
Response.Empty() already passes those to the ZIM. The premise moved with the
upstream engine set in three days.

The three quality signals the task named were recorded per query and none
separate the sets. Token overlap is zero for the one bad claim and also zero
for "столица Франции", whose answer is Париж. Empty snippets never fire,
because ParseResponse already drops a hit with no text. SearXNG returned no
corrections or suggestions even for the query it silently respelled. So no
threshold is built: it would cost a real answer to save one invented word.

What ships is the second half. The claiming query source crosses the IPC seam
on ipc.ChatReply.Source and renders as a badge beside the reply on /chat. It
rides the context rather than a return value, because handleText answers every
reach through one string and the mic, telegram and the web all share it.
Chat now returns ChatReply instead of a bare string.

Full -race suite green.

claude 7d4b4ad736 clarify: a parked question belongs to the conversation that was asked (V-466)
The clarify store had one key for the whole daemon, so a question asked in
the web chat and never answered captured the next three utterances from any
source — telegram, or the mic — and answered them against a request the
speaker never made.

The reach now supplies a conversation id on the IPC Chat call, and the
daemon carries it on the context the way it already carries the correlation
id, so the six clarify call sites read it instead of a constant. The mic has
no id of its own and keeps the key it had, so voice behaves exactly as
before. mavweb has no per-browser session, so every tab is one conversation:
right for a single-owner box, and still distinct from telegram and the mic.

Dialogue sessions stay global on purpose — they are what she remembers about
him, not what she is waiting for from one channel.

kami f1a809121b shutdown: close the sockets, or the database never gets sealed
mavend seals its encrypted database in `defer st.Close()` when run() returns.
It had not returned since 2026-07-21. Every restart since then decrypted the
same eleven-day-old ciphertext and rolled back everything written in between:
the Telegram nudge that kept firing was a fact being un-written on each boot.

The goroutine dump named it. main → srv.Close() → ipc.(*Server).Close →
wg.Wait(), waiting on per-connection goroutines parked in readFrame. Close
shut the listener and nothing else, so the idle persistent sockets held by
mavweb, mavpoll, mavcaldav and mavmaild blocked shutdown forever. `docker
compose stop -t 60` spent the whole sixty seconds and then took a SIGKILL.

So: track the accepted conns and close them, in ipc and in voice, which had
the identical defect. Bound all three waits — the two per-server ones and the
worker wait in main — because the seal matters more than any single in-flight
call. A dropped RPC costs one reply; a missed seal costs a session.

The regression test leaves a client connected and idle, which is the case the
old tests avoided by closing the client first.

kami ad074cea31 Swap the resident model without restarting mavend (#250)
Loading a different gguf was a one-line edit to phraser.model_path plus a
restart. It is now an owner-triggered IPC call, off unless configured.

internal/phraser/swap.go holds the safety properties as code:

  - Never two models resident. The old llama-server is killed and reaped
before the new one is launched. One 1.7B fits the Vega iGPU; a
blue/green overlap would OOM the box, so it is not offered.
  - Atomic from a turn's point of view. Swap drains the in-flight turns
(they finish on the old model), then refuses arrivals with ErrSwapping
until the new server has answered /v1/models. No turn ever sees half a
swap; refused turns fall back to the classifier cascade.
  - A failed load rolls back. If the new model does not start or does not
probe, the previous one is reloaded and the call returns RolledBack
with the error. If the rollback also fails the daemon says so and
degrades to the classifier rather than pretending to serve.

Holders of the completion client are re-pointed, not rebuilt: llm.Client
guards its base URL and LLMPhraser.OnSwap re-points it, so the router, the
replier, the mail extractor and the memory evaluator follow the new port
without knowing a swap happened.

Reach is deliberately narrow. phraser.swap_models is an exact-match
allowlist of absolute paths a human wrote, rejected at startup otherwise,
so "swap the model" can never mean "load any file on my disk"; the running
model is always swappable back to. MethodSwapModel is AuthStepUp, the same
rung as mutating the tool allowlist, and /models gates POST through the
same stepUpOK the tools page uses. Nothing calls Swap on a timer and no
act, intent or utterance reaches it.

kami f42d1594ef Turn a mail into task candidates, and into nothing else (#246)
The extraction half. internal/email.Extractor asks the resident Qwen3-1.7B,
under a GBNF grammar, what one message requires of him, and returns at most
three short candidates with an optional date.

Everything it can produce is a row in `tasks` with status "candidate",
written through the intake seam #130 built for exactly this (Source
"email:<mailbox>", Evidence = the subject line). No reminder, no fact, no
note, no calendar event. That bound is the design: a reminder FIRES, so a
1.7B misreading "встреча была в четверг" as a future appointment would wake
him up about it, whereas a wrong candidate is a line he dismisses in one
click. A due date the model read out of the mail is stored on the candidate,
where no scheduler reads it — the review page sorts by it. Relative wording
("до пятницы") is deliberately left in the text rather than resolved to a
date the model would get wrong.

The prompt is written against the two things a small model does here: it
summarises when asked to extract, and it invents an obligation out of a
polite closing line. Hence the demand for a verb phrase, and an explicit
empty array — most mail contains no task, and a model with no way to say
"nothing" says something.

Wiring: core owns extraction because llama-server lives in core's process,
so the reader hands messages over a new ipc.MethodIngestMail. It is a Server
hook (like StepUp/UnlockFn), not a CoreAPI method — not a store operation,
and no CoreAPI implementation should have to carry it. The hook stays nil
without an `email` config block or without a llama-server phraser, so the
method answers ErrUnknownMethod: off unless configured, twice over. There is
no keyword fallback on purpose — "the subject became a task" is a mailbox
rendered as a to-do list, not extraction.

Privacy: junk is refused before the model is called, mail text is never
search input, extraction errors carry byte counts rather than the reply, the
stored evidence is a truncated subject, and the log line names the mailbox
and the UID only.

kami 75b067ac51 Merge the accepted-routine fix and drop reminder_id from accept
Two merge fixes on top of the branch:

- migrations: keep both new steps, snooze stays #8, the routine columns
become #9. Both agents had numbered theirs #8.
- accepting no longer takes a reminder id, on the web surface too. The
web accept path had the same one-shot-reminder bug the voice path did,
so both now just flip the status and let the tick loop schedule.

The test that asserted "accept creates a reminder and links it" asserted
the bug. It now asserts that accepting creates no reminder.

kami a33ad82178 Let the /routines page accept a proposal, gated at step-up (#46)
Accepting a routine gives the trigger loop a new standing reason to speak to
the human, so it is the same authority tier as enabling a tool and shares the
stepUpOK gate; dismiss only ever makes maven quieter, so it is ungated.
Look at handleRoutines and acceptRoutine in cmd/mavweb/main.go: accept creates
the recurring reminder, then links it via the new ipc AcceptProposedRoutine.
The page now says what maven noticed in her own words (pattern.PhraseRoutine).

kami 20184874b2 Add the morning routine engine — a daily checklist, not four timers
Backlog item #3 (20-07-2026-BACKLOG.md). A morning routine is a checklist for
a daily window: several items, each evidenced by a fact key, completed in any
order, checked once near the end of the window. Modelling it as four
independent reminder timers would stack into exactly the kind of noise Maven is
supposed not to produce, so the engine nags at most once per day per routine
and only for what is actually still missing.

internal/morning follows the established pure-engine pattern (loop, routine,
pattern): no store, no clock of its own. Evaluate answers "what's still
missing" at any point; Due decides whether to nag. The impurity — reading
facts under the store lock, holding the last-nudge map across ticks — stays in
the tick driver, which calls Due each tick exactly as it does for loop.Rule
and routine.Routine.

Completion evidence is a fact key's latest non-voided value timestamped inside
today's window, so manual ("выпил воды", voice-tapped) and inferred (another
daemon writing the same key) are indistinguishable and both count. Weekdays
scopes which days a routine applies to, so weekday/weekend variants are two
routine rows rather than a special case in the engine.

Exposed read-only: a MorningStatus RPC over ipc, and a /morning page in mavweb
built on the same server-rendered shape as /trace — no live-update loop, since
checklist state moves on the scale of minutes.

kami 838fde1fff Fail closed on ambiguous IPC mutation outcomes instead of blind retry
Vikunja #269 (P0): Client.call() retried any connection-loss uniformly,
including the case where the request frame was already sent and the reply
never arrived — the server may have already committed the write before
dying, so a blind retry could double-apply it. This violates the ecosystem
rule against retrying an unknown mutation outcome.

- Split errConnLost into errWriteLost (request never sent — always safe to
retry) and errReadLost (request sent, reply lost — ambiguous).
- errReadLost is only auto-retried for read-only methods (replaying a read
can't double-apply). A mutation method instead returns ErrAmbiguousOutcome
so the caller can decide, rather than the boundary silently guessing.
- Added commit-then-disconnect regression tests: a mutation (WriteFact)
surfaces ErrAmbiguousOutcome and does not retry; a read (Presence) retries
transparently past the same disconnect timing.

kami 25357bf267 feat: IPC additions for reminders/events/routines, ack tracking, tool management
- Extend IPC wire protocol: add ListReminders, ListEvents, ListProposedRoutines,
DismissProposedRoutine, AcceptProposedRoutine IPC methods with request/response
types. Update wire.go with new message kinds.
- Add ack_sends table (migration #5): tracks sev4 telegram repeat-til-ack
delivery state with rule name + timestamp, indexed for dedup.
- Add Store.DeleteTool: permanently removes a tool row (for dismissing proposed
  tools), idempotent on missing tool.
- Update tick.go: wire new IPC handlers into daemon tick.

kami 1eca17f37b reminders: add recurring reminder support
Add cron expression support for recurring reminders using robfig/cron/v3.

Changes:
- Migration #2: ALTER TABLE reminders ADD COLUMN cron TEXT + next_fire_ts INTEGER
- Reminder struct: add Cron and NextFireTs fields
- scanReminder helper extracts full row including nullable cron
- CreateReminder: accept optional cron param, store next_fire_ts = fire_ts
- DueReminders: query on next_fire_ts instead of fire_ts
- RescheduleReminder: new method — parse cron, compute next fire, update
next_fire_ts or mark fired if no more valid times
- Dispatcher: call RescheduleReminder for cron reminders, MarkReminder for
one-shots (preserving existing behavior for ID=0 digest skip)
- ReminderCompleter interface: add RescheduleReminder method
- storeAPI adapter: forward RescheduleReminder
- All callers updated: CreateReminder signature includes cron param
- Tests: TestRecurringReminder (store), TestDispatchRecurringReminderReschedules
- Existing tests updated for new signature

kami 7683a9b32c ipc: promote startup socket-wait to a shared DialWait; use in all modules
The cold-start crash-loop wasn't mavweb-specific — mavpoll and mavcaldav also
ipc.Dial + exit on failure, so they crash-looped until core booted too. Moved
the retry into ipc.DialWait (capped backoff, bounded) and switched mavweb,
mavpoll, mavcaldav to it. mavweb's local dialCoreWithRetry is gone.

Test: server appears after DialWait starts → it waits and connects.

kami 9e2a9690bf ipc: client redials on a dropped core connection
mavweb (and every ipc.Client) held one net.Conn from Dial and reused it for the
life of the process. When mavend restarted, the socket got a new inode, the
cached conn went dead, and every call failed forever with "broken pipe" — the
dash and page-heartbeat 502'd until mavweb was manually restarted.

Fix in the one place all 25 methods route through (call): on a lost connection
— write failure OR read EOF, since a peer restart can surface on either phase
depending on socket-buffer timing — drop the conn, re-dial the remembered path,
and retry once. Safe for the case that happens (core restarted, request never
processed); the rare committed-then-died window can double-apply a write, but
the store is append-only so a duplicate is a superseding row, not corruption.
ponytail: retry-once, not request-ids — revisit if double-apply ever bites.

Test reproduces the exact incident: server restart on the same socket path, and
asserts the next call transparently reconnects.

Note (not fixed here): Server.Close waits on its handler goroutines, which park
reading live client conns — so a graceful core shutdown with a client attached
blocks until the client disconnects. Minor; surfaces as a slow SIGTERM.
